Electrical Power Systems Engineer, Mississauga, ON
About Our Department: The Transmission & Distribution Department has been delivering solutions to power utilities and industrial clients since 1955. We are internationally recognized as a provider of engineering services in fields of power transmission, distribution, and generation. Expertise and experience is what we bring to our clients – and can provide to you in a great learning environment. The division provides comprehensive services that cover the entire spectrum from concept and planning to design, maintenance, and operation. Our clients are transmission and distribution companies and their generation and load customers.
The Position:
You will perform a technical role on a wide variety of Power Systems assignments under the mentorship of our senior practitioners. Responsibilities include technical analysis of electrical power systems including, short circuit, coordination and load flow studies, development of project scope cost estimates and schedules, co-ordination of resources; report preparation, and client contact.
The Incumbent will assist with preparation of high voltage equipment specifications and design activities for substation layout, arrangement, relaying & control and related activities.
Excellent technical, analytical writing and presentation skills are important competencies.
MS Office and Computer skills with respect to technical analysis will set you apart from your peer group.
The Ideal Candidate: You have between 7 to 30 years of experience and a university degree in electrical engineering. Your technical knowledge and past experience with the study and design of electrical, instrumentation and automation systems for the Power industry will round out your qualifications for the position.
Previous consulting engineering experience is an asset.
